Character Animations
Character design has always been a passion of mine and I love being able to bring my characters to life with motion! Here’s a showcase of my favourite designs and animations, using a mixture of original designs and some childhood favourite creatures.
XPRESSIONS01
For my latest OC collection I wanted to explore the different ways you could modify a generic character and imbue them with personality to make them stand out on their own, which led me to creating a selection of 6 cat characters with their own unique colour, style, and most importantly - expression. As well as considering their static design choices I also needed to consider how these expressions would translate into animation, so I fleshed out the characters further with their own names and backstories that would help influence the ways in which they present themselves and interact with others. In order, we have: Scarlet, Tulip, Blu, Astr*, Goldie & C@T.
Pokemon Animations
I tasked myself with both illustrating and animating a randomly generated Pokemon each day for the whole month - here are my favourite results! While there are certainly some that I’m less proud of than others, the task as a whole massively contributed to my understanding of both Adobe Illustrator and After Effects as I needed to learn new methods in both programs to make sure I could hit the daily deadline each day.
